Jean Marie Joseph "Busma" (Arabic for beautiful smile) Lyell, 73, of Richmond, died December 26, 2003. Busma was preceded in death by her father, Albert Earl Joseph Sr. of Beirut, Lebanon; her mother, Bertha Kouri Joseph of Richmond; and two brothers, Eugene Albert Joseph and Coleman George Joseph of Richmond. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert (Jack) M. Lyell; one cherished sister, Mrs. Albert Chezik, formerly Kathleen "Mae"; and one beloved brother, Albert Earl "Junior" Joseph. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1948, was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, and the Ladies Auxillary. She was an instrumental and integral component of the Lebanese Food Festival. Jean Marie left a lifetime legacy of love, commitment, and faith to her beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, godchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, both former and present lifetime friends, and one special priest. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 1 to 3 and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, and where a Christian Wake service will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, 4611 Sadler Rd., Glen Allen on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 2 p.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church.
