William Wallace Smith Jr., 82, returned to his Heavenly Father on November 19, 2010. He passed away in his home surrounded by his loving children, following complications of a heart attack and stroke.

He was born October 27, 1928 in Salt Lake City, to William Wallace and Sarah M. Whitman Smith. He married Annie Higgs Smith on September 6, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Bill was a hard worker and his first priority was providing for his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and talented musician. He built guitars and spent countless hours entertaining and sharing his love of music. He played in The Valley Rhythm Boys band and continued performing with his wife and friends for many years.

Bill had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about fishing. He claimed he put the "Smith" in Smith and Morehouse.

Survived by his children: Bonnie (Randy) Nelson, Christine (Quim) Roundy, Elaine (Eric) Hendriksen and Larry (Pamela) Smith; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruby Cornell. He was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Jefferson Ward 1883 S. West Temple on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Viewing to be held at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road on Monday, November 22, from 6 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
