Henry B Houchins, who was taken ill on Nov 15 with typhoid fever and taken to the Hinton Hospital on the 20th, died at that place on Saturday evening Dec 1st at near six o'clock.
His death although not unexpected came as a shock to his relatives and numerous friends in Hinton and elsewhere. He had been unconscious practically from the time he entered the hospital and gradually grew worse until he died.
The remains were taken to Talcott on No 14 Sunday afternoon and from there taken to his old home near Greenville, Monroe county, for burial, which occurred today. He leaves a wife, father and mother who reside at Greenville, one sister Mrs Mary Peck of Raleigh, one brother J F Houchins of Holly, NY, and perhaps others whose names we are unable to obtain.
Mr Houchins moved here about three years ago and during his stay in the city made numerous friends who sincerely regret his sad death. He was near 30 years of age.
