LAWRENCE COUNTY - Joan H. Compton, 81, of Louisa, died Monday, March 29, at her residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1929, in Richardson, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Jane Allen Hinkle. She was a floor supervisor at Pathways, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Louisa.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James F. [Frank] Compton of Louisa; a son, David F. (Kimberly) Compton of Louisa; a daughter, Jane D. Emory of Louisa; and three grandsons, Brandon Emory, Shannon Emory, and Ramsey Compton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 31, at Young Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ric Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Pinehill Cemetery, Louisa, under direction of Young Fuhneral Home, Louisa.
