Alfred worked for the city of Erie, retiring in 1982. He and his wife owned and operated Benacci's "3040" Restaurant and Lounge on West 6th Street in Erie.
Alfred died Feb 17, 2002 at age 89 after a brief illness. In addition to his son David, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester Benacci (1914 - 1998) and Albert Benacci, and a sister, Mary Romersa. He was survived by his wife Mary, a son, a daughter, his sister Amalia Mennini, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
