Japeth William (Bill) Turley, Sr., 88, passed away November 21st in Sebring, Florida. He was born November 28, 1921 in Corydon, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Elaine and four children from his marriage to Betty (Seacat) who predeceased him; Bill Turley of Chapel Hill, NC; Ann, Mike and Robert Turley of Poolesville, MD; grandchildren Alison Turley of Englewood, FL and Jay Turley of Seattle, WA; a brother Forrest Turley and sister Marilyn Day of New Albany, IN.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Air Force 388th Bombardment Group and received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Louisville. He worked at the K&I Terminal Railroad in Louisville, KY before relocating to Maryland where he retired from the Transportation Communications Union. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 12th at Gehlbach & Royce Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN from 3 to 7 pm. A private burial will be on Monday, December 13th at Ceder Hill Cemetary in Corydon, IN.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in his name to the 388th Bombardment Group (H) Association, Inc. and mailed to Treasurer Bit Snead, 2449 SW 328th Street, Federal Way, WA 98023-2565 with a notation "Knettishall Memorial Fund".
