Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Zipse, Ryan Torres, Jeff Janka, Bernd Hoefler and Bob Butterworth. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Venema. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the service at the church.Alice B. Boehne was born December 11, 1926, the daughter of Louis F. and Laura (Plath) Boehne in Fairmont, Minnesota. On September 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” R. Gardner in Wilbert, Minnesota; he preceded her in death on December 9, 1990. They lived in Sherburn, Minnesota and in 1961 moved to Savanna, Illinois. In 1968 they moved to Clinton, Iowa.Allice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. For over 40 years she belonged to both Eventide and Altar Guilds. She was a past member of the board of directors for the Clinton Lumberkings and member of the Clinton Country Club. She was the past secretary and treasurer for Mercy Hospital Bridge-a-rama.Alice is survived by her two daughters: Peggy (Thomas) Janka of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Kay (Mike) Zipse of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter-in-law Sherry Gardner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren: Lisa (Bernd) Hoefler, Andrea (Bob) Butterworth, Matt (Kristin) Zipse, Jeff (Diane) Janka and Allyson (Ryan) Torres; four great grandchildren: Isabella, Cole, Cora, and Ellie; and many nieces and nephews.Alice was preceded in her death by her husband, her parents, her son Dale Gardner and grandson Todd Gardner. Also one brother and one sister.Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and Savanna Veterans Memorial Project.
