Funeral Service for Judge Vernon Douglas Sollie, age 95, will be held Tuesday, September 1 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Moody. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sollie passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Lee Sollie; daughter, Jeri Sollie Dalton; several brothers & sisters and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Sollie. He is survived by his wife, Jewel P. Sollie; son, James D. (Sherry) Sollie; daughters, Carolyn Alverson, Mary Burnett; step-daughter, Deana (David) Sanderson; 11 grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and friends.
