Born August 23, 1926, in Tuscola, IL, she was the daughter of Welby Garrett and Ruth Inyart Garrett. She married Gerald D. Cox on December 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1993.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Bridgeport.
Survivors include one son, Bill Cox and wife Bonnie of Bridgeport; two daughters, Sue Schultz and husband Jim of Sumner and Deana Brashear and husband Dennis of Sumner; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, February 17, 2005, at the First Christian Church in Bridgeport, IL.
Visitation was held on Wednesday evening, 6 until 8 p.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL.
Burial was in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Claremont, IL.
