MOS: 0369 Infantry Unit Leader.
GySgt Joyce arrived in Vietnam for his third tour of duty and was assigned to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Gy Sgt Joyce died as a result of hostile rifle fire through the side of his chest when Echo Company encountered hostile forces during Operation Union.
Gy Sgt served his country for 16 years.
Survived by his wife, Carol L Joyce and their son and daughter of North Tarrytown and his parents, George B and Helen C of N Tarrytown, New York and his siblings, Mary Ann, Kathleen, Helen, Alice, George, Robert and David serving with the US Air Force in Italy.
