He lost his battle with cancer and passed away in San Diego November 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Debra Anderson.
He grew up in Rapid City where he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid fisherman right up until the time of his death.
Rickey was an extremely caring, compassionate and generous friend to those in need.
He is survived by his son Andrew J. Martens of TX, daughter Shelley M. Flanagan of IN, two grandchildren, and companion Kathleen Monahan of San Diego.
Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 19th, Pacific Beach Mortuary, 4710 Cass St., with Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20th, St. Brigid Catholic Church, Pacific Beach. Burial in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Rapid City, SD.
