Garth Eugene "Gene" Christy, Sharon, formerly of Mercer, died of natural causes at 1:34 p.m. Saturday (7-1-06) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 58.
Mr. Christy was born Nov. 23, 1947, in Grove City to Boyd and Betty Habbyshaw Christy.
He was a machinist for Premier Hydraulics in Farrell.
Mr. Christy was of the Free Methodist faith and a former member of Mercer American Legion Post 159.
Surviving are; his children, Meldenia Davis and Tiffany Christy, both of Mercer; two sisters, Patricia Ritenour, Florida, and Mary Jane Rensel and her husband Jerry, Mount Vernon, Ohio; Boyd Christy III and his wife Bonnie, Windham, Ohio; three granddaughters, Colleen Christy, Rebecca Montgomery and Shawna Montgomery; and one great-grandchild, Kadin Mott; and a special neice, Alicia Gaston.
His parents preceded him in death.
