Valley - Mrs. Icy Mae Sorrell, 90, of Valley died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. A.C. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Sorrell is survived by her daughter, Bette Anne Stuart of West Point; her son, Theron (Rachel) Sorrell of Valley, five grandchildren, Donna Rock, Theda Griffin, Steven Sorrell, David Stuart and Jimmy Stuart; and six great-grandchildren.
Born Jan. 29, 1911 in Chambers County, Mrs. Sorrell was formerly employed with Radiation Incorporated in Palm Bay, Fla., and had also worked at WestPoint Steven Lanett Mill. She was a member of Lanett Community Chapel Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis W. Sorrell. She was the daughter of the late Martha Ann Magby House and Wiley House.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 21 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
