Edna B. Alton, age 89, of Rice Lake, WI, went to be with her creator on November 20, 2010 in Granite Falls, MN surrounded by loving members of her family. She was born March 16, 1921 to Olaus and Lena (Wold) Mork in the Town of Wilson, Dunn County, WI. She was married on June 9, 1945 to Theodore (Ted) Alton in Birchwood, WI. Edna will be remembered for her kindness and compassion, her busy hands, and the ability to make it all look easy. She rocked and sang many babies to sleep, and the wonderful smells coming from her kitchen fed them all. She carried a smile and her unique sense of humor throughout all of life's happenings and her comforting voice of reason will be missed by all. Her loving family will honor her memory by following the strong example she raised, led and lived by.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Helmer and Melvin, sister: Nora, granddaughter: Jean Fest and great-grandson: Ryan Fest. She is survived by her husband Theodore of Rice Lake, sons: Charles (Jill) of Rice Lake, Russell (Brenda) of Warren IL, Michael (Robin) of Mapleton, MN, Jerry (Colleen) of Ashland, Terry (Laura) of Rice Lake, Craig of Rice Lake, and Keith (Nancy) Alton of Rice Lake, daughters: Sharon (Fred) Fest of Granite Falls, Dawn (Mike) O'Brien of Rice Lake, Mary (Dennis) Kucko of Rice Lake, Marlys (Curt) Wentworth of Oakdale, MN, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister: Doris Anderson of Colfax, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be (was) held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Canton United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Altman officiating and interment at Pioneer Rest Cemetery in the Town of Sumner. Visitation will be (was) held from 9:00-11:00 am on Friday at the Church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, Cameron & Dallas.
