WILLIAM M. AMTHOR Wallkill, N.Y. William M. Amthor, a retired owner of Amthors Welding, Walden and lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the Montgomery Nursing Home, Montgomery. He was 88. The son of Ed and Nettie Amthor, he was born October 4, 1915 in Ellenville. He was the widower of Mildred V. Amthor. Survivors include his three sons, William E. Amthor and his wife Theresa of Utica, Arnold G. Amthor and his wife Alice of Wallkill, Thomas L. Amthor of Grahamsville; one daughter, Arlene Adams of Grahamsville; two sisters, Mary Smith of Newburgh, Hattie Wayman of Newburgh; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, September 3 at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 4 at the Walden United Methodist Church, Walden. The Rev. Kent Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Grahamsville Cemetery, Grahamsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden United Methodist Church, Walden, NY 12586. Arrangements by Gridley-Horan Funeral Home.
