Margaret Ann Mouser was born June 11, 1934 In Boise, Idaho to Annie Laura (Cato) and Carl Knudsen and was brought up in the home of her Aunt and Uncle, Myrtle and Pete Anderson who lovingly raised her like their own daughter. She married her best friend and life partner 52 years ago on March 15, 1952.
Margaret has been a member of First Baptist for over 55 years and served in numerous capacities. She worked for Sears from 1952-1962. She went to work for the Boise School District in 1965 and retired in Sept., 1990. Her most rewarding position was as Secretary to Dick Kuntz, Director of Elementary Education whom she considered one of the most respectable Christian men she had ever worked for. Bible Study Fellowship was a huge part of Margaret's life off and on for 30 years from 1969 to 1999 and she was instrumental in establishing the evening women's Bible Study.
Mike's retirement and Margaret's nearing retirement from the Boise School District allowed a dream to be fulfilled. Mouser Machine Shop opened their new doors at 7545 Lemhi in March, 1990. Margaret continued to work and keep the company books through April of this year knowing it was best to keep her mind occupied on something other than her illness. The family wants to give special thanks and appreciation to John Harris who "held down the fort" when Margaret's doctor appointments and illness kept Mike and Mark away.
Margaret's illness resulted in her having to give up one of the most rewarding Jobs she has ever had that as a gift shop volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital downtown. She joined the St. Luke's Volunteer program in the year 2000 and volunteered more than 1,637 hours before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was a member of the Auxiliary Board, serving as Vice President of Special Events from May 2002 - May 2003.
Dr. Montgomery, his nurse Kathy, and her many nurses at MSTI became endeared friends and helped her each step of the way and she and the family thank each and every one of you for the compassion and love you showed not only her, but Mike, the family, and all the of patients who pass through your door on a daily basis. You know who you are.
Margaret loved the outdoors. Camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time at the Family ranch House were priorities of her life. More than that, however, was the love of her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was so proud of Megan, Matt, Jacob and Joshua. She couldn't have survived as she did without her family and friends love and support.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Mike, sons, Mike (Mary), Mark (Vickie), four grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Alonzo, and brother Jim Knudsen.
