N. Dewey Shreves, 44, widely known employee of the Muncie post office, died unexpectedly early yesterday morning at the family home in Cowan. A native of Delaware County, he was the son of Martin and Margaret Mongold Shreves. He had been an employee at the post office for more than 16 years.
Mr. Shreves was a member of the Cowan Christian Church, the United National Association of Post Office Clerks and the local chapter of barbershop singers.

Surviving are the widow, Alice; three daughters. Joyce Ann, Carilyn Jayne and Carlee Alice Shreves, all at home; eight brothers, Charles W., Aaron M., John H., Eli W., and Thomas P. Shreves, all of Muncie, Melvin G. Shreves of Selma, Harry Albert and Frank Shreves, both of Anderson; and one sister, Mrs. Viola Williams of this city.

Funeral services will be conducted at Cowan Christian Church at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary after 2 p.m. o'clock Tuesday afternoon or at the church one hour preceeding the services.
