Obituary: "Oldest Resident at Bethesda Answers Final Summons Tuesday" – Mrs. Jorgine Ness, oldest resident at the Bethesda Home for the Aged, died Tuesday at the institution where she had resided since 1917. She was 92 years old last August 27, and had been in failing health for about a month. Funeral services will be held in the Bethesda chapel Saturday afternoon at 1:30 by Rev. I. F. Borgen and burial will be in the cemetery at the Home. A native of Norway, Mrs. Ness came to America (1866) at the age of 20 as a bride. She and her husband lived first in Clayton county, Iowa, then in Fillmore County, Minnesota, and finally in South Dakota which was her home for more than 50 years. After her husband's death she and her 10 children went to Montana where she took a homestead. She came to Bethesda from Miles City, Montana. Until only a few weeks before her death, knitting, crocheting and tatting had been her hobbies in recent years. Four sons survive her. They are Oscar Ness of Baker, Montana who is enroute here for the funeral; John of Minneapolis, also expected for the service; Ed of Kalispell, Montana and Louis of Los Angeles, California. Beside these she leaves a sister Mrs.Torgerud of Lake Preston,S.D., who was here to help care for her the last week of her life, and a brother, Hans Setbacken, also of Lake Preston).
