Mrs. Abigail Chaplin died at 11 am Tuesday morning at the family residence 1102 W. St. Louis Ave. Her age was seventy one years and ? month. Her death was caused by pneumonia.
She was twice married, her first husband being George F. Bratton to whom she was married May 27, 18??. To this union four children were born two of whom survived her. They are William Bratton of Decatur and Mrs. Mary Cazel of Springfield. Mr. Bratton died May ?, ?. Her second husband was Alfred Chaplin to whom she was married Nov 1, 1874. His death occurred Sept. 19. 1911. To them were born two children, Mrs. Gertrude Keefe of Decatur and James P. Chaplin who died a number of years ago. She also leaves a brother and sister, James Morse of Decatur and Mrs. Louis Lyons of Olney. She leaves two stepchildren, Mrs. Charles Killion of Pana and John Chaplin of Olney, eleven grandchildren..
