He was born in 1949 and was a life-long resident of Hawkins County. He was of the Baptist faith. He owned his own business (Jim's Electric) and was employed by Alladin Plastics for 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Christian; granddaughter, Kaylynn Renee Lawson and brother, Ray Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Grace Christian, of the home; son, Thomas Christian, Surgoinsville; daughter, Beth Jones and husband, Jeff, Mount Carmel; grandsons, Thomas and Joseph Christian; mother, Isabeth (Blue Eyes) Christian; brothers, Junior Christian and wife, Loretta and Jeff Christian and wife, Teresa; sisters, Bertha Byington and husband, Ralph, Bea Housewright and husband, Dana, all of Surgoinsville, Virgie Falin and husband, Billy, Gate City, VA and MaryAnn Childress and husband, Bob, Mount Carmel; special friend, Rhonda Trent, Mount Carmel and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Pink Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Reverends Kyle "Dickie" Falin and Pat Hammond officiating. Interment followed in the Thacker Cemetery. Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville was in charge of arrangements.
