He was a retired Ethyl Corp. employee and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by his wife, Addie Belle Alford, Baton Rouge; a son, Michael Lane Alford, Baton Rouge; and two nieces, Mrs. .J. Vidacovich;P.J. (Louise) Vidacovich, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Mervin (Mary Frances) Comfort, Brandon, Miss. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. .B. Alford;W.B. Alford; a son, Edgar Lane Alford Jr.; and two sisters, Mrs. Leola Head and Mrs. Nellie Ector. He was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church.
