Former area resident, Evelyn M. Whitlake, 76, of Kearney, Nebraska, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at Mother Hull, Kearney, Nebraska. Evelyn was born April 2, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Merle LeRoy & Edna Frances (Wilbur) DeLancey.
Evelyn graduated from Fullerton High School and on August 3, 1944, married Elwood R. Whitlake. He preceded her in death in July, 1987. She worked at and retired from Mode 'O Day and was an area resident for 55 years, until moving to Kearney in 1994.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Elwood, son; Donald, son; Ronald, daughter; Faye Kloke, step brothers, Duane and Noel Garrison, sister; Dorothy Watson, and step father, Ezra Glen Garrison.
