Funeral Services for Mrs. Anstine – Funeral services for Mrs. Alie L. Anstine, 75, wife of a former editor of the Wolbach Messenger who passed away at her home in Meadow Grove, were held Friday from the Meadow Grove Methodist church and burial was in McCoy cemetery beside the body of her husband. Mrs. Anstine was a sister of Grant Lowe and an aunt of Mrs. Jessie Fox, and having been former residents, the family is well known here. Those attending the funeral from Wolbach were Mrs. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lowe, Mrs. Minnie Berney, Mrs. Hester Lowe, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Tellmann and Mrs. E. H. Davis. Obituary – Alie Lowe was born of Quaker parentage in York county, Pa., Sept. 26, 1866, and died at Meadow Grove, Neb., Oct. 31, 1941 at the age of 75 years, one month and six days. She was married to W. R. S. Anstine at Stewartstown, Pa., Oct. 11, 1893. To this union eight children were born, two of whom died in infancy. The Anstine family moved to Wolbach in 1909 where Mr. Anstine was editor of the Messenger. Later the family resided at Odell, Humboldt, Wilber and Reynolds and in 1918 moved to Meadow Grove where Mr. Anstine published the Meadow Grove News until his death June 19, 1929. Mrs. Anstine was a member of the Methodist church, the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Twentieth Century club. Survivors are two brothers, Grant Lowe of Wolbach and Colfax Lowe of York, Pa., a sister, Mrs. Ruth Ann Morris of Stewartstown, Pa., two sons, Robert of Nez Perce, Ida., and Perry of Norfolk; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Rhea of Meadow Grove, Flora of Norfolk and Mrs. Evelyn Linscott of Beatrice, and eight grandchildren.
