Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Fritz, 83, were held on Friday, July 22, 1966, at 4 p.m. in the Schaetter Funeral Home and at 4:15 p.m. in St. Mary's Church. The Rev. W. W. Schneider officiated.
Mrs. Fritz died on Thursday, July 21, at 12:30 a.m. in the Hill Crest Nursing Home.
She was the former Sophie Kunz and was born in Gillespie County on June 18, 1883, the daughter of William Kunz and Anna Meckel Kunz, and was married to Edward Fritz on August 13, 1906. They were the last couple married in the old church. Her husband died on Sept. 8, 1958.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons; Mrs. Annie Lang, Fredericksburg; Felix Fritz and Francis Fritz, both of San Antonio; and Julia, Mrs. Ben Henke, of Fredericksburg.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and three sisters; Emma, Mrs. Willie Lott, Fredericksburg; Susie, Mrs. Elmon Steward, Llano; and Dora, Mrs. Edwin Jung, Harper.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by the following sisters; Lina, Mrs. Willie Lott; Rosa Kunz; Alma Kunz; Mrs. Theresa Lochte; Isabell, Mrs. Bill Zitzmann; and Margaret Kunz. Two brothers died in infancy.
St. Mary's Choir sang at the services. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers at her rites were; Bruno Fritz, Alfons Fritz, Hilmar Weinheimer, Henry Segner, Leo Blanchard Jr., and Robert Besier.
