Born Angie Hazel Bartlett, after her father's sister Angie, Hazel was known as Hazel and is published books under the name Hazel A. Bartlett.
Hazel was the oldest of three and never married. She was likely the first white child born in Deer Lodge County, Montana Territory. At the time of her birth the smelting town of Anaconda was still only temporary structures. Hazel and her two brothers grew up in Anaconda because their Uncle Merritt and other family had mining interests in the Anaconda and Wickes areas.
Hazel Bartlett, daughter of Harriet and Jonathan Bartlett, lived to be 103 years of age. She was a brilliant woman and a superb researcher. Even in the age before computers, Hazel and her brother Harley traced their Bartlett ancestry back 14 generations.
Memorial Manager 'J' also inherited Hazel's extensive notebooks, publications, and genealogy research on paper from her Potter side. I am slowly adding it with her citations into modern genealogy record.
Hazel had to catalog and annotate music publications in 8 different languages to inventor ALL available from given countries at that time:
