Daughter of Roy Campbell and Hattie Orpha (Morgason) Campbell. She was born at home – 2033 Hovey Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Her parents divorced before December 1925. Hattie married Rudolph Brown in 1925. Marguerite was living with her mother Hattie, her stepfather Rudolph and her stepbrother Herschel. Hattie died at the age of 29.

Marguerite was eight when her mother died in 1930. She was taken by her father to live with Clay and Ethel Shalley in Hollandsburg, Parke County, Indiana after her mother's death. Roy was living with their daughter Mary LaMoyne (Shalley) Raney.

Marguerite attended Union Township Schools in Parke County.

On August 12, 1939, Miss Marguerite Campbell and Kenneth R. Martin, both of Rockville, was solemnized at 8 o'clock Saturday night, at the home of the Rev. Claude Ward, pastor of the Memorial Presbyterian church.

Parents of Doyne Russell, Donna Sue, Darrell Lee, Debra Lynn and Darla Jo.

They owned and operated Martin Cleaners in Rockville at 708 West Ohio Street for 25 years. She handed out candy and gum to customers and their children. She was also known for telling dirty jokes.

Marguerite was a member of the Rockville United Methodist Church. She read from The Upper Room Daily Devotional Guidel to her children every evening. She taught Sunday School. When her class ended everyone walked to Insley Pharmacy for cokes. The class also had picnics at the Dam Ramp on Raccoon Lake.

The family enjoyed boating, skiing and fishing on Raccoon Lake. Marguerite never got into the water. She made the best homemade noodles from scratch.

Note: When Marguerite and Kenneth went to get her birth certificate in 1982 when she was 60 years old they discovered on the drive home that her name was listed as Margaret Lorene Campbell. She needed her birth certificate to get a social security number as it was now required on a driver's license. They realized the mistake but chose not to turn around and correct her first name. Her name was incorrectly recorded at her birth.

I believe her middle name Lorene was to honor her great-aunt Margaret Lorene (Morgason) Campbell.
