WEBB CITY VETERAN OF WORLD WAR TWO DIES - Senior Warrant Officer Forest Raymond Armstrong, 47, Missouri National Guard, a native of Webb City, passed away Friday in John Cochran Veterans' hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient only a short time. Death was attributed to leukemia.
Armstrong was stationed at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis.
Warrant Officer Armstrong's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Armstrong, died when he was a small child and he was reared by his Uncle and Aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blackford of Carthage.
He was a veteran of World War Two, having served in Iraq and other supply stations in the near east.
Surviving are his wife and four children of the home, 4115 East Penrose, St. Louis; two other children by a former marriage; two brothers, and the uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blackford.
