John A. Davenport Dead
John A. Davenport, aged 80 years, died at his home at
Ottawa, Kansas, a few days ago. Mr. Davenport was for many years one of the
leading citizens of Woodsfield. He was a christian gentleman and was held in
high esteem by his acquaintances. He removed from Woodsfield about
twenty-five years ago. He was the last of the sons of Hon. John Davenport,
one of the historic characters of Barnesville, and an uncle of Mrs. William
C. Mooney of this place.
