"Near Cottonwood, Yolo county, March 14th, after a lingering illness, A. H. Willard, aged 58 years.
Deceased was among the first settlers in Yolo county, having migrated with his family from Wisconsin in 1851, and has resided in this county nearly nineteen years. He was the father of fourteen children -- seven sons and seven daughters -- nine of whom survive him. He possessed much energy of character, and was noted for a high sense of honor.
