Anna May Wilson, 84, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton, Ill.
She was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Godfrey, the daughter of Warren W. Wilson and Anna E. (Martin) Wilson.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton. She worked for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Alton for 39 years before retiring.
She is survived by two nephews whom she helped raise and their spouses, Tony A. Baker and his wife, Dianna, of Alton and John L. Baker and his wife, Carole, of Godfrey; one sister, Dorothy Polston of Godfrey; a sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Bob Chinowth of El Paso, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Wilson of Brighton; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nephews and -nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and John Wilson; one sister, Mildred Shaw; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ed Baker; one brother-in-law, Earl Polston; a nephew, Melvyn Shaw; and a great-nephew-in-law, David M. Freer.
Visitation will be from noon until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. The Rev. Bob Phillips will officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey
