Abigail Maria Kirby Newlin, 71, of Berryville, Virginia, died Monday, November 29, 2010 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Newlin was born November 2, 1939 in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of Andrew C. Kirby and Anna M. Compton Kirby.
She was retired from Holiday Tyler Graphics.
She was a member of the Graphics Art Union; Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served two terms as Regent of the Front Royal Chapter; and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9760 of Berryville, VA.
She married Leonard Harris Newlin on September 27, 1958 in Berryville, Virginia. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on September 27, 2009. Mr. Newlin died on November 27, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters, Alesia Lynn Newlin of Berkeley Springs, WV and Annette F. Newlin-Berkeszi of Front Royal, VA; a sister, Patricia Cunningham of Stephenson, VA; two brothers, Michael Kirby of Berryville, VA and George Kirby of Winchester, VA; four grandchildren, Shannon Paul Newlin of Berryville, VA, Timothy W. Newlin, Sr. of Round Hill, VA, Sara Anne Newlin Parks of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Andrew M. J. (Mikey) Berkeszi of Front Royal, VA; four great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
A daughter, Sharron Lyvonne Newlin Wright preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P. M. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville with Rev. Ken Patrick officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville.
