Second wife of Aaron Clark, maiden name was Vosburg. She was of Carruth decendancy; her mother was Levina Carruth who married (1) Martin Vosburg, b 1791, (2) Arathusa's step-father, Elisha Hager, widower of Levina's sister Patty, at Halifax, Vt. Sep. 15, 1836. Her parents were pioneers in Ashtabula Co., Ohio, where Mr. Vosburg engaged in farming and the practice of law. After his death she returned to New England. Arathusa was born 8th* of 9 children in Pierpont, Ashtabula Co., Ohio.

Married Joshua Newell Brown circa 1850. Three children with Joshua N. Brown are buried in Green Cemetery with their father. A fourth, a daughter, is in Sadagwa Cemetery in Whitingham. (See links below.)

He is a farmer with worth $1,500 & personal $700. He and all children born Vermont. This is her husband Joshua's last census. Three of their children have died, two within a year and a half of her husband's death.

1880 Census She is 50, residing in Halifax, married June 6, 1875, to Aaron L. Clark, 53, a farmer; residing with her are Nellie Brown, 14; Edward Clark, 12; & Walter W. Clark, 10; the later two being children of Aaron's late wife, Rebecca.
