Daniel M. "Dan" Stobbe, age 63, passed away Friday, October 11, 2002 at his home in Shorewood surrounded by his family and friends following a year long fight against cancer.
Dan was born in Loup City, Nebraska and was a resident of Joliet for the past 46 years.
Dan, "The Blue Knight", a master patrol officer retired from the Joliet Police Department in 1996 after 27 years of service. He also worked at the River Valley Justice System, Will County Building Commission and Rubberoid Inc., Joliet. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Benevolent and Protective Association of Illinois, Illinois Police Association, Moran A.C., Cantigny Post VFW #367, Ravens A.C. and St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church.
