Doris Brant Hoyle, 86, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died on November 17, 2010.

She was born in Cumberland, Maryland, daughter of the late Ralph and Ella Matthews Brant and widow of Raymond F. Hoyle. She was preceeded in death by a brother, LTC (Ret.) Ralph H. Brant.

She is survived by a loving companion, Mickey Ward, three loving girls, Cynthia Turner (Douglas) of Simpsonville, Janis Buckstad (Robert) of Virginia, Julie Dacus (Keith) of Simpsonville, a stepson, Stephen Hoyle of California, five grandchildren, Stephen Eskesen, Kristin Hamilton, Leigh Ann Eskesen, Mackenzie and Maddie Dacus, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was very involved in church, choral, and community interests. She was a long time member of Lee Road United Methodist Church. A classically trained singer, she performed in church choirs and was a member of the Greenville Chorale. She volunteered for Hospice, Literacy Association, nursing homes, and Meals on Wheels.

She wanted to thank Dr. Bing Vick. She loved singing with a wonderful group of people and a world class director. She also wanted to thank her devoted companion and caregiver, Mickey Ward, and her daughter, Cindy, for their care and love.

A memorial service was held Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Lee Road United Methodist Church. The family received friends after the service in the church social hall.

Memorial gifts may be sent to Interim Hospice Care or the Shriners Children's Hospital.

"For Christ has completely abolished death, and has now, through the Gospel opened us to the shining possibility of the life that is eternal" (2 Tim. 1:10-11).

Cremation Society of South Carolina served the Hoyle family.
