Mrs. Agnes Dodson, wife of W.A. Dodson, died at the family home a mile south of town Monday morning, following an illness of two and a half years. She was born in Parkersburg, W. Va., April 24, 1859, and was 70 years old at the time of her death. She was left an orphan at five years of age and became a member of the family of George W. Frye, who died recently in Colorado Springs. She was brought to this county when a child. Mr. and Mrs. Dodson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversity [sic] about two years ago at an affair held in the Presbyterian church, of which she was a member. Besides her husband, there are two surviving daughters, Mrs. S.I. Furlong, of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. E.S. More, of this city, and four grand children, Irving Furlong, of Houston, Texas, Willard Furlong, of Witchita [sic], Kans., Mrs. Jaunita Butterfield, and Miss Helen More, of Kirksville. Funeral services were held at the Summers & Son Funeral home at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning conducted by the Rev. Ralph M.G. Smith and burial was made in the Forest cemetery.
