BAXTER Funeral services for Jessie Leon Bush, 92, of Baxter, will be held today, Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 7 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mr. Bush died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville.
He was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Smith County to the late Levitus Bush and Maude Smith.
Mr. Bush was a farmer and construction worker.
His family includes a son and daughterinlaw, Jerry and Gloria Bush of Cookeville; a daughter and soninlaw, Janie and Freeman Brown of Baxter; a daughterinlaw, Janet Bush of Baxter; a sister, Minnie Irene Robinson of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Michael Brown, Myra Brown Phillips, Melissa Savage, Regina McGuinness, Dax, Derrick and Megan Bush; and two greatgrandchildren, Anthony Smith and Michael Brown Jr.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Scarlett Bush; a son, Bobby Eugene Bush; a grandson, Terry Lynn Bush; four sisters; and a brother.
