Mr. Grady Simmons, Jr. was born August 23, 1940 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, the son of the late Grady and Sarah Simmons. Grady was employed at Buick Motor Division, Local 599 for 38 years. He received Christ at an early age at Gold Hill Baptist Church in Rutherfordton. Grady enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, barbering and traveling with his children when they were very young. He was truly a family man. Mr. Simmons was a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Arlene Simmons; daughter, Francine (Cleautry) Willingham, all of Mt. Morris, MI; two sons, Grady (Glenda) Simmons III and Anthony Simmons of Flint; grandchildren, Kinshasa, Jasmine, Jalisa, and Christopher Simmons, Calisha, Jameshia, and Denise Willingham, all of Flint; step-granddaughter, Miracle Verner of Hampton, VA; great-grandson, Deon King Jr. of Flint; 5 sisters, Frances Hines, Marva (R.C.) Webb, Cecelia Brooks, Pastor Wanda Marshall, Sarah and Elder Rayford Gray; brother, Major Fuller, all of Flint; two uncles, Leonard Simmons of Jonesboro, TN, Earl (Mary Alice) Fuller of Rutherfordton, NC; aunt, Delcie Brown of Rutherfordton, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special daughter, Jackie Poulite, special friends, Bernadine Toliber and Will Thompson.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Sarah Simmons; brother, Mark Simmons; brothers-in-law, Carl Hines and Jesse Forward; and nephews, Jonathan Webb, James Forward and Ronnie Marshall
