Harrison Luke Anderson, born November 20, 1990, a life-long resident of Bulloch County, went home to see Jesus on Sunday, November 14, 2010. He was a kind, loving, joyful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. An expression of Luke by his friends was, "His friendship was enduring, his generosities were large and his life was an inspiration."

He is survived by his parents, Julie and Greg Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Josh Lanier; girlfriend, Christian Chance; and grandparents, James and Bea Lowe. Luke is also preceded in death by grandparents, Luke and Wudie Anderson. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Pam and David Averitt, Linda and Tom Nixon, JoAnne and Wyman Hunt, Karen and Allen Seals, Andy and Tippy Anderson, Lisa and Stan Cochran; cousins, Jessie, Harrison and Dailey Averitt, Thomas Rushing, Elinor Rice, Nick Nixon (Julie), Kim Lamb (Chris), Kip Keene (Bobby), Kristan Collins (Danny), Camilla Seals, Case and Sally Anderson, Kiernan and Isabel Cochran, and their families. Luke is also survived by the brothers of Sigma Chi Fraternity, his special friend group known as OFD and his chocolate lab, "Jake".

Luke was born and raised in the family of First Baptist Church in Statesboro, and accepted Jesus as his Lord, at age 7. He has lived and will continue to live his life of faith through those he knew and loved. Luke was a 2009 graduate of Portal High School, and a sophomore at Georgia Southern University. He enjoyed mission trips with First Baptist Church, meeting and greeting the community at First Baptist Church, Stringer Chevron and Wiggins Christmas Tree Farms, where he worked. Luke loved baseball, collecting Polo Hats for every occasion, driving his truck and fellowship with family and friends, and his brothers of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Luke never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16th, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. at the Statesboro First Baptist Church, 108 North Main Street, Statesboro, Georgia, 30458.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. John Waters and Dr. Stewart Moody officiating. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Sigma Chi brothers and members of the Focus Sunday School Class of Statesboro First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Student Ministry at First Baptist Church, 108 North Main Street, Statesboro, Georgia, 30458; or the Luke Anderson Scholarship Fund at the Eta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Georgia Southern University, c/o Darron Burnette at Sea Island Bank, P.O. Box 568, Statesboro, Georgia 30459. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
