This is my husbands Great-Aunt Pina. She was very proud to be an American citizen and all the opportunities the new country had given her and her husband Cataldo. In 1905, traveling from Sicily, Italy with Cataldo they started their new life in America on Ellis Island with nothing but their pride and love for one another. She was a remarkable woman who was extremely eager to learn english and get to work right away, and she was one of the pioneers of the International Ladies Garment Union.

Although they never had children of their own, she took to my husbands mother Gloria has a daughter, especially when Gloria lost her mother at a young age. Also from that point on she became a surrogate grandmother to my husband. And to this day, he has the fondest memories of his Aunt Pina.

She lived a full contented life. Traveled to many places, very honest loving woman. Pina had passed away peacefully in her sleep in 1982 at the age of 97. A wonderful great aunt who is extremely missed. Aunt Pina - I love you & miss you very much. Love, Warren

** Thank you to all who are so kind enough to visit and leave flowers for her. Thanks & God Bless
