WILMINGTON -- Clifford MacDonald Reaves, 93, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was the son of the late Robert and Evalena Reaves. He is also preceded in death by his "Daddy Jim" Sharpe and "Mama Helen" Sharpe, the aunt and uncle who raised him through childhood, and also his son, Clifford MacDonald Reaves II. Mr. Reaves was active in real estate, beginning in the 1950's. He owned his own real estate and appraisal business, and a number of homes and buildings of his architectural design remain in Wilmington today. He was a charter member, and 1st President of the Supper Optimist Club of Wilmington. He dearly loved poetry and music, and has written a number of beautiful compositions of his own.

Mr. Reaves is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, (his angel), Regina H. Reaves, two daughters; Priscilla Coleman, (Louis), and Elizabeth Harrelson,(Buddy), and the mother of his children, Jessie Hale Reaves. Clifford was one of 14 children, of which two sisters, and two brothers remain. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, family man, and friend, Clifford will be greatly missed and always lovingly remembered.

The family will receive friends 1:00 PM, Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral services to be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 4, 2010, in the Oleander Chapel of Coble Ward-Smith. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
