The son of Henry and Sarah (Davis) Kiteley. Married first to Mary Ann Fluel and married second on 5 May 1898 to Lucy Theana Wellington. Obituary: James Henry Kiteley was born in Canada May 1, 1843, and died Feb. 26, 1919, aged seventy-five years. He came from Canada when quite young to Tuscola county, residing there until twenty-two years ago. He moved to Canby and has since resided here. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Miss Mary Ann Fluel. She died about twenty-three years ago. To this union were born six children who are William, Richard, Wessley, Sadie, Elizabeth and Violet, who died at the age of two years. Then he was again married May 5, 1898, to Mrs. Lucy Shorter, of Ely, Mich. He has been an asthma sufferer for thirty-six years and on Tuesday was taken much worse and fell asleep Wednesday forenoon from which he never rallied and passed peacefully away at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening at the home of his step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Bayha. He leaves to mourn his death his widow, three sons and two daughters, two brothers, Nelson and George Kiteley, and nineteen grandchildren. The funeral was held from the home of his step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Bayha, Sunday at 11 o'clock a.m. and burial in Bliss cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Seymour, assisted by Rev. Mr. Zimmerlee, of Bliss. Bearers were L. M. Tice, Fred Gill, William Farr, Simon Robinson, Andrew Hoar and Frank Snyder. Relatives from away were his daughter, Mrs. Seymour Kelley and husband, of Caro, Mich.
