He lived in Fulton until May 5, 1942, when he joined the Air Force in World War II as a cadet and training aids instructor. He worked for the Civil Service Corp of Engineers. He retired from Boeing Airplane Co. He attended Itawamba Agriculture High School, East Miss. Junior College and University Of Tennessee Ext. School in Memphis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bobby Jarrell officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a special niece, Jackie Couch ( Jim) of Tupelo; a special cousin, Mary Sue Jones; and a special friend, Helen Butler, both of Fulton; and one nephew, Alfredo Giacometti ( Barbara) of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie L. Owens, who died in 2004; two sisters, Dorice A. Owens and Myrtle Catherine Owens; a brother, Marcus O. Owens; and his parents.
