PRESTON L. WRIGHT DIED AT HOME OF HIS DAUGHTER

Preston Lee WRIGHT, 85, resident of Routt county since 1916, died suddenly Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. R. MARTINDALE, Yampa. Mr. WRIGHT was born in Verdon, Illinois, December 9, 1858. He came to Routt county for his health and for many years made his home on a homestead in Foidl canon.

P. L. WRIGHT LAID TO REST AT SERVICES HELD HERE SUNDAY

Preston L. WRIGHT, whose death occurred last Tuesday, was laid to rest in the Steamboat cemetery Sunday afternoon following services held at the Methodist church in Steamboat. Rev. Cecil P. Simpson was in charge of the services.

Preston Lee WRIGHT was born at Verdon, Illinois, on December 9, 1858. When a small boy he with his family moved to Kentucky where he resided for a number of years. They then went to Missouri where in 1888 he was married to Lydia M. MUNN and they lived in Missouri for a time, then going to Kansas and in 1902 they went to Oklahoma, where they homesteaded a tract of land where they lived a number of years before going to New Mexico for his health.

They lived in New Mexico for two years and in 1917 they came to Colorado, locating in Twentymile park where they lived until about 1927 then coming to Steamboat Springs which had been his home until his wife passed away in 1934. Since that time he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Pearl MARTINDALE, at Oak Creek and Yampa.

Surviving him are six sons and three daughters, John of Shenandoah, Iowa, Will of Kim, Colorado, Mrs. Mary MALLORY of Port Angeles, Washington; Lewis of Lincoln, Nebraska, George of the Canadian air forces somewhere in England, Mrs. Alice KENASTER of Creston, British Coilumbia, Clarence of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Pearl MARTINDALE of Yampa, Delbert of Tacoma, Washington.

He had been associated with the Methodist church for a great many years.
