Mr. Allen died Friday at the Newton D. Baker Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. He had been ill 4½ years.
He was born on September 17, 1930, at Broadway and was a son of Viola Via Allen Lawson of Laurel, Md., and the late Russell Kirby Allen.
Mr. Allen served in the Army in Korea and was a member of the Rion Bowman VFW Post and the American Legion.
He attended Mount Clinton Church of God and was a construction worker.
On April 8, 1948, he married the former Helen McDorman, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two children, Kathleen Renalds, of Dayton, and Larry Allen of Harrisonburg, two sisters, Virginia Martin and Pauline Crawford, both of Laurel, Md., a brother, Avis Allen, Middletown, W.Va., and seven grandchildren.
