Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Stanley) Jollie, she lived in West Warwick for 50 years.
Mrs. Slater had served as a volunteer with the Rhode Island Organ Donor Awareness Coalition.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa L. Fresolone and her husband Louis A., of West Warwick; a son, Edward A. Slater, Jr. and his wife Helen I., of Wakefield; a sister, Barbara Rothermel of Warwick; four grandchildren, Makayla L. Fresolone, Timothy L. Camerlin, Hannah E. Slater, and Samuel E. Slater; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Gillooly, William Jollie, Dorothy Bowden, Theresa Johnson, Joseph Jollie, John Jollie, and Mildred Abel.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 6, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-6 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
