Maggie Mae Dickey Bowen

SWEETWATER -- Maggie Mae Dickey Bowen, 93, passed away Monday, October 20, 2003 at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2003 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Rev. Lyndel Hix officiating. Burial will be in Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Maggie was born August 19, 1910 in Merkel, Texas. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She had lived in Sweetwater for 75 years and was a cook. Maggie owned a grocery store on Elm Street and also the Moon Cafe in 1952. She was an honorary member of the Roscoe Lions Club.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Geneva Watkins Bostick in 1999; a son-in-law, Monroe Rose in 2002; and several brothers and sisters including Lizzie Dickey Allen and Dub Dickey, both of Sweetwater.

Survivors include daughter, Minnie Rose of Sweetwater; son-in-law, John Bostick of Roscoe; five grandchildren, John Bostick, Jr. of Odessa, Dianna Heady and husband Richard of Roscoe, Mack Bostick and wife Martha of Leander, Marty Rose and wife Shayla of Coleman, and Marla Andrews and husband Pete of Sweetwater; eight great-grandchildren, Tony Heady, J.T. Bostick, Ricky Heady, Jennifer Bostick, Kyle Bostick, Cody Bostick, Mackenzie Bostick, Briana Rose; and five great-great-grandchildren, Dustin Heady, Trotter Heady, Jeime Bostick, Parker Heady, Jada Bostick.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Roscoe Lions Club.

Family visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
