Mrs. Mary S. (Marilyn) Roach, 76 of Canton, Mo. died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 7:08 A.M. at her home in Canton.
The daughter of Leonard K. and Leona Stout Long was born on August 1, 1934 in Clark County, Mo.
She was united in marriage to Howard Norman Roach on February 9, 1952 in St. Patrick, Mo. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2001.
Marilyn was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Canton, Daughters of Isabelle of St. Patrick and the Quincy Cursillo. She volunteered at Hannibal Regional Hospital and Hospice at Blessing Hospital. She was a matriarch to all.
She is survived by her children, Jim Roach of Canton, Mo., Hal Roach & wife Tina of Bowling Green, Mo., John Roach of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. Sue Traw of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Mrs. Lora Phillips & husband David Jr. of Williamstown, Mo., Mrs. Kathy Neisen & husband Bobby of Quincy, Il., Mrs. Joni Sheldon & husband Dan of Arvada, Colorado and Mrs. Lisa Logsdon & husband Jeff of Canton; a son-in-law, Dick Clark of North Carolina; 22 grandchildren, Jamie Traw, Jeremy Traw, Dustin Traw, Marisa Roach, Tyler Roach, Amanda Tobias, Shane Roach, Halle Roach, Andrew Norton, David Phillips III, Danika Wallace, Carlie Phillips, Nate Phillips, Justin Roach, Brianna Roach, Jesika Roy, Dakota Neisen, Brandon Sheldon, Luke Logsdon, Ben Logsdon, Chris Clark and Tracey Gomeringer; 11 great-grandchildren, Mikhayla, Tessa, Harlie ,Tayler, Madie, Jacob & Gauge Traw, Jaxon Ellefritz, Joseph Wallace, Memphis Phillips and Justice Crippen; sister, Mrs. Janelle Boltz & husband Fred of Keokuk, Ia.; and two sisters-in-law, Susie Long and Joan Long.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary L. Clark, three brothers, Dick, Raymond and Houston Long, two sisters, Pauline Gallant and Alice Horne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, Mo. with Fr. Jerry Kaiman, Fr. David Cox, Fr. Jim Wheeler and Fr. Richard Frank officiating with burial in the St. Patrick Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 until 8 PM at Arnold's Funeral Home in Canton, Mo. with a prayer service at 5 PM.
