FUNERAL OF JUDGE ALLEN
TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY

The Funeral of Judge William H. Allen, 65 years old who died suddenly in his office in the Western Indemnity Building Monday afternoon, will be held Wednesday. After a short service at the residence, 5505 Willis Avenue, at 6:30 a.m., the family and friends will accompany the body to Terrell, where, immediately following the arrival of the train, service will be held in the Methodist Church. Dr. W. D. Bradfield officiating. Judge Allen early in the afternoon Monday retired to his private office, where he was found in an unconscious condition at 1:30 p.m. by his son and law partner, G. P. Allen. He lived until about 3 o'clock, but never regained consciousness. Physicians said he died of apoplexy. Judge Allen was born at Okolona, Miss., May 27, 1856. He graduated from the University of Greensboro, Ala. Coming to Texas in 1875, he taught in Marvin's College, Waxahatchie and the following year came to Dallas and taught mathematics in what was known as Old Rock College. He began the practice of law at Terrell in 1880 and moved to Dallas in 1906. Judge Allen was married to Miss Sidney Penn of Waxahatchie, and to them were born six children. Mrs. Allen dying in 1898, he was married to Miss Eve Lawrence of Bonham in 1901. He is survived by the following children. Judge Arch C. Allen, John W. Allen, G. P. Allen, W. S. Allen and Mrs. Ed Blenke; a brother, the Rev. John R. Allen, Methodist minister of Cedar Hill, and two sisters, Mrs. S. J. Bass of Terrell and Mrs. Charles Crutchfield of Hope, Ark.
