Former Teacher, Mrs. Lowrie, Will be Buried Saturday

Funeral for Mrs. Sudie E. Lowrie, former school teacher and widow of the late Dr. S. A. Lowrie, is to be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Kiker-Warren Chapel.

Dr. Sterling Price, Pastor of University Baptist Church, is to officiate, with burial in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Lowrie died Thursday night in Hendrick Memorial Hospital.

She had been a resident of Abilene since 1928, and lived at 2325 Pine St. She was a graduate of the University of Texas.

Mrs. Lowrie, the former Sudie Evans, taught in San Saba County, Coleman County, Santa Anna and Goldthwaite. She was married to Dr. S. A. Lowrie Oct. 15, 1908 at Talpa. He died two years ago.

She was a member of University Baptist Church, where she taught an adult Sunday school class for a number of years, and also did work for the extension department of the church.

Survivors are two brothers, H. E. Evans of Talpa and C. W. Evans of Monahans; three sisters, Mrs. J. T. W. Brown of 140 Merchant St., Mrs. Exa E. Hale of 917 Hickory St. and Mrs. T. P. Rucker of 863 Hickory St.

Pallbearers will be Ollie McMinn, Vincent Becker, Wayne Beanett, Ben Richey, Walter Pope Sr. and H. C. McDermett.
