Shirl A. Dillon III, 62, Vail, died Friday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Shirl A. Jr. and Shirley (Estright) Dillon. He married Catherine Cassel on July 30, 1983, in Pinecroft.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jeanna Dillon of Harleysville; a stepdaughter, Donna James and husband, Thomas, of Reading; two stepgranddaughters: Sarah and Dillon James; and a brother, Ronald Dillon of Weehawken, N.J.

Shirl retired in 2008 from Penn Fuel, Vail, as a manager after 31 years of service. He was a 30-year member of the Tyrone Masonic Lodge 494 and a member of the Tyrone Elks 212, Blazing Arrow Hook & Ladder Company and Jaffa Shrine. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and Tyrone Area High School football games.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to the noon funeral service Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, the Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Masonic and Elks services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Tyrone Masonic Lodge, Old Route 220, Tyrone, PA 16686.
